Ride for Pride

Next week, in celebration of Pride Month and the 50thanniversary of the Stonewall uprisings, we will bring you stories of individuals in our community, both past and present, who work with passion and purpose to help achieve a more inclusive society. These three women are connected by a shared dedication to work that challenges gender norms and stereotypes. One lived and worked in Rye about a century ago, one grew up in Rye in the 1950s and 1960s, and one is a current Rye resident. All three have had helped to promote social equality by shaping what identity means.

Read more about these local leaders and innovators in next week’s Rye Story, but for now, a Pride Month first for our community: Sunday, June 23rdis Pride Day at Playland. The historic amusement park is offering admission at the discounted price of $20/person with raffles and prizes throughout the day.
