WE ARE COMPLETELY FULL FOR BOTH DAYS!
The military aspect of history has disappeared from American schooling, but the mechanics of military history (strategy and tactics) can tell you alot about the reasons battles took place.
In this 2-day workshop on the mechanics of military history, you’ll learn about specific wars and battles from US history and play fun strategy games to recreate decision-making. You’ll get to see and handle artifacts from our collections representing everything from the War of 1812 to the Civil War to WWII. You learn about the cyphers used to secretly communicate during wars and get a chance to create your own. And, you get a chance to ask questions of Ben Smith, recently with US Army Intelligence. If it’s not classified, he’ll fill you in.
$40 per day; $70 for both workshops
